President Obama did his job with diligence when he nominated Chief Judge Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court this week. Now the Senate must do its job, as well.

I am by no means advocating a rubber-stamp approval, but rather the Senate fulfill its constitutional responsibility to thoughtfully consider Judge Garland’s qualifications and hold a vote. I need you to join me now, with passion and energy, in pressing Senate leadership to consider Judge Garland’s nomination.

The Supreme Court is the bedrock of our democracy, and, as a nation, we should share the common goal of ensuring the Court’s credibility, trust and rule of law are preserved. I am committed to doing everything I can to make it happen, but I can’t make headway on this without you:

Add your name today to demand the Senate hold an up-or-down vote on Judge Merrick Garland, the President’s nominee to the Supreme Court: http://action.richardblumenthal.com/p/salsa/web/common/public/signup?signup_page_KEY=9698
